AEW Presents New Women’s Championship Belt

During the Friday evening episode of Dynamite, the Go-Home show for the Double or Nothing PPV, AEW unveiled an updated version of their Women’s championship belt.

Hikaru Shida celebrated her one year anniversary as AEW Women’s Champion in a special Shida Appreciation Night segment. She won the title at last year’s Double or Nothing PPV by beating Nyla Rose.

The championship belt is similar to the old one, but larger in size and features more gold and jewels.

After the presentation, Britt Baker interrupted the celebration and proclaimed herself the new face of the AEW women’s division. The new title will be on the line when Hikaru Shida defends against Britt Baker on Sunday night at Double or Nothing PPV, live from Daily’s Place in Jacksonville, FL.

After Dynamite Hikaru Shida thanked the fans. She wrote on her twitter:

Thank you for watching #AEWDynamite.

I will never forget about tonight. With new shiny belt. (That was my first promo in ring!!!)
